Viewing the falls
When you visit the Victoria Falls Activities, you obviously want to
visit them. So we recommend that as soon as you get off the taxi and check-in
into a hotel, immediately go and visit the falls. It completely refreshes the
body from all the tiring travel to reach here. If you stay at Livingstone
(Zambia), minibuses and shared taxis regularly operate in the route to the
falls. In case if you stay in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), you can simply walk
down to the entrance of park from the town. You will find well-marked paths and
several viewing points. There’s no need for a guide for this, so you can save
money there. Don’t forget to get the raincoat by the way to save yourself from
the splashes of water.
Bungee Jumping
One of the main highlights and reason for people to visit
the falls is to bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge, especially for the
adrenaline junkies. The jumps cost almost $100 and can be arranged through moth
Zimbabwe and Zambia hotels as well as from any local travel agency. You can
read more about my jump here.
Jet Boating
A jet boat ride makes you experience the Victoria Falls from
the below. The very scenic and fast ride would take you to the "boiling
pot" located at the foot of the falls, along with some spine-tingling
turns en route. The Regal Tours & Safaris operate the fastest boat.
White-water rafting
To raft down the rapids of Zambezi River can turn out to be an
incredible adventure for you. These are Grade 5 rapids, so do not expect to
flow down the river like the lazy river at many waterparks. Prepare to get wet
and work hard in order to stay upright. Trips usually involve lunch at a
beautiful spot besides the river and conclude with a chilled beer once you have
climbed back up the gorge. There’s more on the white-water rafting on Zambezi
River...
Sundowner cruise
Sunset cruises are in fact quite popular in this part of
world. Also, one could take pleasure in a beverage while watching the hippos
cavort in Zambezi under a magnificent sunset. Cruises could be organized
through several travel agencies located around the town in both Livingstone &Victoria
Falls. Ilala Lodge's Ra-Ikane is my favourite from Zimbabwe side. A truly
unique cruising experience along with some superb food. I really liked the Lady
Livingstone on the Zambia side. For less of a sunset cruise, more of a booze
cruise, it’s better to go for the larger, cheaper boats.
